The Fischer Family Tree:

Gottlieb Fischer and his family had close connections to the Yinger Family of York County, Pennsylvania.  Gottlieb Fischer and his descendants were neighboring property owners to the Broband/Yinger/Fetrow family farm which is discussed in detail in another section of this web site.

Gottlieb Fischer served as a guardian for George and Sophronia Yinger’s only child, Nancy (Ann) Yinger after George’s untimely death in 1790.  Gottlieb Fischer also took Elizabeth Broband into his home as her guardian after the death of her father Jacob Broband.  Sadly, Gottlieb died in 1792 and both of these girls had to be moved into the homes of other neighbors to be cared for as a result.

Gottlieb married Ursula Hoffstadt who was a daughter of Peter Hoffstadt, another neighboring farm owner.  One of Gottlieb and Ursula Fischer’s daughters, Catharine, married Joseph Fetrow.  Their son Joseph Fetrow Jr. married Catharine Broband the youngest daughter of Jacob and Anna Broband.

Another son of Joseph and Catharine (Fischer) Fetrow, John Fetrow Sr., married Nancy (Ann) Yinger the only child of George and Sophronia (Broband) Yinger.  Finally, another son, David Fetrow, married Mary Yinger who was a daughter of Anthony and Magdalena (Broband) Yinger.

Most of the information included in the family tree for Gottlieb Fischer and his descendants was derived from George R. Prowell’s “History of York County, Pennsylvania” published in 1907 by J. H. Beers & Co.  The family tree for the Fischer family of Newberry Township which illustrates the connection to the Yinger family of York County, Pennsylvania can be viewed by following the link below to another page in this section of the web site:
